A Foggy Morning
Nov 28th, 2007 by Katie
A heavy fog is draped over the earth. It covers fields and trees in the distance, muting them in to a sepia tone landscape. The world in the 100 meter radius that surrounds me is in tri-color. Sun-faded yellow of cut corn stalks. Deep mud brown of plowed earth. Dewey green of surrounding grass. As I drive down the tar black highway, the color moves with me. Black tree silhouettes become brown; rolling gray fields reveal their brown and yellow. I am in a black and white photo and only the pixels surrounding me have been colored. The fog prevents anything from revealing itself before it is in my immediate view.
Today I am thankful for fog, the figurative blanket the covers what is coming until it is immediately upon you, forcing you to take things as they come.

An expression of gratitude for all that is good in my life.
