I was talking in my sleep this morning, right before I woke up. I don’t remember it, Diene had to recount it to me later. It sounded something like this:
“Ocupado,” I mumbled.
“What?” Diene asked.
“Ocupado.”
“What is ocupado?”
“The men’s bathroom. It’s ocupado. That’s what I’ve been saying all along.”
That’s right. Apparently my morning fantasyland includes the men’s bathroom, which is disturbing enough not to think about too hard. But the best part is that I am apparently dreaming in Portuguese. Ocupado means occupied in Portuguese! After only three weeks of classes, I didn’t know that word yet; I had to look it up on Google Translate this morning. Puxa, my brain is a magical machine and I am so grateful for it! (Also really grateful for all the fun to be had on Google Translate!)
