In planning a day where I have a lunch meeting in Oshkosh, WI and a dinner meeting in Hartford, WI, I found myself at a total loss trying to figure out whether or not it was worth it to drive home in between. The miracle that is google maps tells me that doing so would cost me 3 extra hours of driving. It also allows me to look at the satellite image of the triangular path of my trip and realize that Horicon Marsh is nearby. In less than 10 minutes, I have driving directions, mileage calculations, estimated time of driving, and a sweet side trip. It is certainly easier to plan such a trip nowadays than any other time in history.
Yet another reason to be grateful for the internet and its constantly evolving information sharing technology. Plus, now I can remember to back my binoculars.
