It occurs to me, as I sip a cup of coffee at 1:08am, that one of the best things about my life is that I get to construct my days and nights exactly as I choose. If I want to sleep in until the digital clock displays fours numerals and then get down to work when the rest of the neighborhood is sleeping, I can. I am grateful for how well this suits an insomniac who would rather choose a 3-mile run outside in the early afternoon than sitting behind her computer.
