There are those activities that, when you are doing them, exist in a time vacuum. You look up at the clock and are amazed to see that hours have gone by, when its only felt like minutes. For me, (very basic) website design is one of those things. For example, I love constantly changing the header and background of this website, experimenting with how different graphics look. The cartophiliac in me is very happy with the latest design.
The thing is, there are so many cool website out there where designers share their work, making it possible to play for hours on end with beautiful graphics that I could never develop on my own.
