Writing can be a solitary profession; hours spent alone with a keyboard are a must for the work. This is certainly something I enjoy about writing, not only for the alone solitude but for the way that it makes interactions with others more meaningful. I had a great breakfast this morning with another writer, lingering over our coffees and talking shop. No need to rush out, no interruptions from others. Just a nice shared meal and conversation. It didn’t hurt that the restaurant was one of Madison’s best and that the coffee fill-ups were plentiful. I am grateful for the nice start to my day.
