Yesterday’s interview on WORT was really fun. It was great to see the brain of WORT, where so many of my favorite radio programs are recorded and broadcast. The people were awesome – very welcoming, cool folks. I love talking about Senegal and my book, so all in all it was great. Then I get home and started to listen to the interview. “Holy man! Whose horrid voice is that?” Why, oh why, does my voice sound so different when I hear it recorded than what I hear in my head? It was so jarring that I had to stop the audio and pause. I still haven’t mustered up the courage to give it a listen. That voice! Today I am grateful for the way my voice sounds to me – so much nicer than what the rest of the world hears.
One response to “The Voice in my Head”
I pulled up the interview on the WORT website last night and gave it a listen. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your account of your experiences and lessons learned in Senegal. Congratulations on a promo well done!
